Job descriptionThe Broedersz group studies the Physics of Life from a theoretical perspective. Our research is focussed on ell and tissue dynamics, Chromosome organisation, and non-equilibrium soft biological assemblies. PhD candidates will contribute to our research by working closely with local and international experimental collaborators, and by developing analytical and computational models as well as analysing and interpreting experimental data. PhD candidates are also expected to work in a team and communicate their work in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences, and to contribute to our teaching program.
- Masters degree in Physics with a focus on theoretical physics
- Knowledge and experience with concepts and methods from statistical and biological physics
- Strong mathematical background and excellent programming skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
What are we offering?A challenging position in a socially involved organization. The salary will be in accordance with university regulations for academic personnel and amounts €2,395 (PhD) per month during the first year and increases to €3,061 (PhD) per month during the fourth year, based on a full-time employment. The job profile: is based on the university job ranking system and is vacant for at least 0.8 FTE.
The appointment will initially be for 1 year. After a satisfactory evaluation of the initial appointment, the contract will be extended for a total duration of 4 years.
